It's The 5th Annual John Coltrane International Jazz & Blues Festival
Here's a festival our #JazzKatz will love featuring Earl Klugh, Lalah Hathaway, David Sanborn, Marcus Allen and Pancho Sanchez! The jazz scene has always been cyclical in the Triad area made up of Greensboro, High Point and Winston Salem, NC. The activity has ramped up steadily since the Friends of John Coltrane put on the first John Coltrane International Jazz and Blues Festival in 2011.
We’ve brought some of the top names in jazz and blues over the last four years. We have had a major influence on the jazz scene by featuring our talented local and regional jazz musicians and provided a stage with a large audience for our young people who are part of the Coltrane Jazz Youth Workshop.
The 5th Annual John Coltrane International Jazz and Blues Festival will be a two-day affair. Each of the headlining artists are Grammy Award winning innovators who have used their music to touch lives around the world. The festival is sponsored by the Hayden-Harman Foundation in memory of Phoebe Norville Harman. The yearly celebration of jazz and blues music honoring Coltrane, a High Point, NC native son, will be held on Labor Day Weekend, September 5 and 6, 2015 in Oak Hollow, Festival Park. Spend the last holiday of the summer with us, enjoying great jazz and blues, food, relaxation and fun!
